DONIC ‘Desto Next’ is a new rubber introduced by DONIC in 2026, designed to focus more on ordinary players rather than professional or highly skilled players. ‘Desto’ is a monumental name given to one of the first German-made rubbers introduced in 1995, and it served as DONIC’s flagship brand for a long time as the name was also used for the first German-made high-tension rubber released in 1998. Unlike the ‘Blue~’ series targeted at highly skilled players, the new ‘Desto’ series newly introduced in 2006 is thoroughly tailored for ordinary players including entry level players. It consists of ‘Desto First’, an entry-level rubber for learning basic techniques, and ‘Desto Next’, a rubber for stepping up to spin-oriented offensive play as the next stage. ‘Desto Next’ is designed to enable players who have mastered basic techniques to perform offensive techniques with stronger spin while maintaining control.

‘Desto Next’ is a new rubber that has appeared under the ‘Desto’ name after a long time. Tailored to the impact of ordinary club players, it offers high performance that is more than sufficient for amateur players to use.

The characteristics of rubber are explained in six languages on the backside of packaging.

‘Allround Plus’ marked on the packaging indicates that this rubber is designed for all-round players who engage in spin-oriented offensive play.

The bottom left of the front packaging features a general description of this rubber’s characteristics, while the bottom right displays logos indicating that it is a new-generation tension rubber.

On the left side of the back packaging, there are symbols representing various technologies applied to this rubber, and at the bottom, performance ratings based on DONIC’s own standards are indicated.

In the packaging, the surface of top sheet is covered by protection paper. The protection paper describes the achievements made so far by players who use DONIC products.

TTop sheet is not transparent. The ITTF registration number is 21-076.

The color of sponge is purple. And the sponge density is 42.5° (in German standard). That density is equivalent to around 32° in Butterfly/DHS standard.

Because it is a new generation tension sponge, it has visible pores.

The pimple geometry of the top sheet is different from either 05-type or 64-type, and also differs from 80-type. The spacing between the pimples is approximately 2.4 mm, which falls between 05-type and 64-type – a structure that has recently begun to be widely applied to rubbers targeting amateur players.

Top sheet is available in two colors – red and black. The weight of rubber before cutting is around 65 g, and the area density is average 0.224 g/㎠. The weight of rubber when it is attached to the blade of standard size is average 45g.

‘Desto Next’ makes it easier to produce speed compared to types focused extremely on spin performance, and easier to apply spin compared to speed-oriented rubbers. It can be regarded as a balanced option tuned for amateur players who prioritize spin-focused offensive techniques while still valuing speed, and as described by the manufacturer, it is expected to demonstrate optimal performance when used by ordinary players.
