Nittaku ‘Fastarc G-1’ is a new-generation tension rubber released in the fall of 2010. Since its release, it has gained steady popularity among professional players and has become the representative rubber of Nittaku. ‘Fastarc G-1’ is one of the early models of the new generation tension rubbers made in Germany released during 2009 and 2010 those were developed for the competition against Butterfly ‘Tenergy 05’. But, when compared with 2009 models, ‘Fastarc G-1’ has relatively stiffer top sheet. That makes the hitting feeling of ‘Fastarc G-1’ when the player performs hard smash very good, despite it is a rubber focused on grip and spin performance. That was later accepted as a unique feature of ‘Fastarc G-1’ that distinguishes it from other ‘Tenergy 05’ type rubbers. Mima Ito, a player who loves this rubber, evaluates ‘Fastarc G-1’ as a rubber that is easy to smash and adds natural irregularity to the ball.

‘Fastarc G-1’ was released in the fall of 2010 as the first new-generation (= Tenergy type) tension rubber. Although it has been over 14 years since its release, ‘Fastarc G-1’ has continuously gained popularity that surpasses that of Nittaku rubbers those were released after it and has become the representative rubber of Nittaku.

The characteristics of rubber are explained in four languages on the backside of packaging.

In the packaging, the surface of top sheet is covered by protection paper.

Top sheet is not transparent. But, if we look closely we can see the shape of pimples. The feeling of top sheet is similar to other models of early (= 2009~2010) new generation tension rubbers. But, it is a bit stiffer than the top sheets of 2009 models. The text ‘GRIP TYPE’ on the top sheet lets us know that the ‘G’ stands for ‘grip’. The ITTF registration number is 54-015.

The color of sponge is orange. And the sponge density is 47.5° (in German standard). That density is equivalent to around 36° in Butterfly/DHS standard.

Because it is a new generation tension sponge, it has visible pores.

The construction of top sheet is similar to that of ‘Tenergy 05’ because ‘Fastarc G-1’ is categorized as ‘Tenergy 05’ type. The pimples of standard size are arranged densly.

Top sheet is available in two colors – red and black. The weight of rubber before cutting is around 66~67 g, and the area density is average 0.230 g/㎠. The weight of rubber when it is attached to the blade of standard size is average 46 g.

Newer rubbers of similar type may make faster ball than ‘Fastarc G-1’ when performing smash because those rubbers are produced with more advanced technology that increases the speed of ball. But those rubbers don’t give as good a feeling of smash as ‘Fastarc G-1’. If the player whose main technic is topspin also lays emphasis on smash, ‘Fastarc G-1’ will be a seriously considerable rubber.

Would Fastarc G1 be great on Hadraw 5 (2024 version) for strong spin and quite fast ?

I haven’t checked Hadraw 5. But, it is expected that it will be good combination. But, if you requires a fast combination, you’d better find newer and faster rubbers such as Genexion.

Hello! Thanks for interested information! You work is very important, my friends 🧡! Can you compare the stiffness of the top sheet Nittaku fastarc g1 and butterfly glayzer?

I haven’t compared those two rubbers directly. But, it seems that the top sheet of Fastarc G-1 is stiffer than that of Glayzer. And you may feel that Glayzer gives softer overall feeling if you frequently uses topspin.

great rubber and probably more suitable for regular players than things like dignics 05 and stuff. Wears like iron, too. That has to be mentioned for people on a budget.
I came across an interesting blade that may appeal to you and your readers for testing- Darker Liberty Glorious. This wood is an inner carbon that uses a peach(?) wood outer latey, that’s designed to work w/ sticky rubbers. I haven’t played with one yet, but it’s supposed to be fast and spinny. Can you get blades from this brand?

I’m not sure, but I will memorize that blade.

It has to be said that as a Chinese table tennis lover, the evaluation of equipment in our country is more focused on subjective experience and feeling, and there is no such accurate and rigorous evaluation as yours. In my opinion, a qualified equipment assessment is indispensable to both. So from my perspective, you can add some subjective experience in the future, which can help equipment enthusiasts better understand this product.

Thank you a lot for comment! 🙂
In fact I’m also writing my subjective results. But, not for all articles. 🙂 Subjective evaluation is included in the articles in whose title it is written as ‘Review’. There are not many ‘Review’s because I don’t have much time for testing all equipments introduced in this home page. 🙂 But, I will try to add more.

Which blade to choose with Fastarc G1 for FH and C1 for BH? Would like to get a carbon fiber blade for larger sweet spot but more controlled.
