DHS ‘Hurricane 8’ is a sticky tension rubber newly introduced by DHS to respond to the ABS ball era. Differently from existing ‘Hurricane’ series whose ‘tension’ versions are distinguished by ‘NEO’, ‘Hurricane 8’ doesn’t have the word ‘NEO’ in front of its name. The characteristic of ‘Hurricane 8’ is that it provides higher speed than existing DHS sticky rubbers. DHS is explaining that newly developed tension sponge of ‘Hurricane 8’ is around 15% more elastic than existing sponges. Players can select between two sponge densities – MID and HARD. MID is 39° in DHS standard (= 51~52° in German standard), and HARD is 40° in DHS standard (= 52~53° in German standard). ‘Hurricane 8’ is comparable to some new German sticky tension rubbers those provide higher speed than conventional sticky rubbers, and is also recommende for the players who first use Chinese sticky rubber.

The feeling of the top sheet is similar to that of conventional DHS sticky rubber. And, the adhesiveness isn’t strong.

On the paper packaging, there are icons those expresses that this rubber is developed for poly-ball era, has integrated tension effect and provides not only good spin but also high speed.

On the backside of packaging, it is described that this rubber is ‘tension’ rubber.

The sealed packaging is designed to be easily opened by pulling.

Inside the outer packaging, the rubber is completely sealed by transparent plastic casing.

The surface of top sheet is covered by a thin transparent vinyl.

Because this rubber is the ordinary version, the shape is an octagon shape whose four corners are cut off. (In case of special province team version, only two corners are cut off. And, in case of the national team version, no corner is cut off.)

The bubble of sponge isn’t seen by bare eyes. The tension effect is obtained by the booster treatment at factory. For that reason, the rubber is sealed in a transparent plastic case to prevent the booster from evaporating and losing its tension effect.

The sheet is thick, and the pimple is low and densely arranged. That is similar to the structure of conventional DHS sticky rubbers such as ‘Neo Hurricane 3’.
