[Updated on 20th May 2023] Butterfly ‘Ovtcharov InnerForce ALC’ is the blade made for Dimitrij Ovtcharov who is the member of German Men’s National Team. It is a 5+2 ply inner-fiber blade based on Butterfly ‘InnerForce Layer ALC’ but the its construction is thicker than that of ‘InnerForce Layer ALC’ (6.2mm vs. 5.7mm). The size of head is also enlarged to 158 x 152mm from 157mm x 150mm of ‘InnerForce Layer ALC’. ‘Ovtcharov InnerForce ALC’ can be considered as the high-speed version of inner ALC blades in Butterfly blade range. It can be compared with some existing high-speed inner ALC blades such as DHS ‘Hurricane Long 5X’. Also, it can be strongly recommended as the combination with new sticky rubbers such as Butterfly ‘Dignics 09c’.

Following are the performance indices of Ovtcharov InnerForce ALC (avg.weight = 89.2g) :
– Ep = 2.02
– Ec = 1.68 (Ec/Ep = 0.84)
– Vp = 1.21
– Vl = 1.30 (Vl/Vp = 1.07)

Thank you a lot. It is also my blog just in different language. I will also make the blog in another language. 🙂
In that blog, I’m using ‘common parameters’ those are a bit different from but based on the parameters in this English home page.

Interesting. My understanding of Ovtcharov alc is this blade has the same construction as Harimoto alc but the core is thicker. Therefore, I expected to see higher Ep and Ec than those of Harimoto alc. Butterfly blade chart certainly indicates that Ovtcharov alc is faster than Harimoto alc. What was the weight of the Ovtcharov alc vs the weight of the Harimoto alc you tested?

The data is heavily concerned with weight. When I measured Ovtcharov Innerforce ALC at first time, there were only lightweight ones. Too light.
On the contrary, the avg. weight of Harimoto ALC is too high. It was 94g while the weight written on Butterfly home page is only 86g.
That makes big difference.
For that reason I have found heavier pcs. of Ovtcharov InnerForce ALC and measured again. The average weight is now 89g. And the updated Ep is much higher than first value. (At the same time I noticed that the first value of Ec = 1.82 was wrong. It was 1.72 that isn’t much different from current 1.68.) Please refer to updated values now. If there is a pc. whose weight is around 94g, its Ep will be higher than that of Harimoto ALC.
The data for Harimoto ALC will soon be updated by the measurement of lighter pieces (ave. weight = around 88g). And, related articles will also be updated.

hello,
still looking for the perfect blade for me… found Innerforce ALC too slow for mid distance rallies, I hope this one will suit me best. as I tried hinoki carbon blades like Nobilis which is very fast and a little bit too bouncy for me (measured mine at 1780 Hz). I just hesitate between the Ovtcharov ALC and the KTS Forge 3K ? These look very similar but which one is the slower and which one has more dwell ?
Best regards

Both of Ovtcharov InnerForce ALC and Forge 3K are very good blades, and there isn’t better or worse. BTW, currently I have many test reports of Forge 3K by many top-level player, and all of them are saying that Forge 3K catches the ball very well in every situation and makes very fast ball with controllable trajectory.
