Since the introduction of Polyball, sticky rubber has begun to attract attention as a solution to the reduced rotation. Many players who hadn’t used sticky rubbes started to use DHS Neo Hurricane 3. And, table tennis makers and OEM factories has tried to develop the rubbers those can compete with DHS rubbers. Butterfly Dignics 09c is one of the results of such efforts. It is also a successor model of Tackifire Special and Spinart those appeared in the past. Its sponge is based on the sponge of other Dignics series, but the density of sponge is increased to 44 degree in Butterfly standard (= around 58 degree in German standard). The combination of sticky top sheet and very hard sponge remind us Chinese sticky rubbers, but this is the rubber made in Japan. The pimple diameter is smaller by 0.2mm than that of Dignics 05 or Tenergy 05, and the pimple height is also lower than those of non-sticky rubbers in the Dignics series or Tenergy series. Dignics 09c will compete with DHS Neo Hurricane 3 that is the representative of sticky rubbers, and new German sticky tension rubbers such as Stiga DNA Dragon Grip 55, Donic BlueGrip and Tibhar Hybrid K3.
