Work of TTGearLab :
(1) The concept of blade
(2) Designing the constructions of plywoods (using performance indices)
(3) Refinement of the graphic design for mass production (Original design was done by a German company)
Accelum series is the blade family that consists of very fast blades, while ProTex series consists of the blades whose speed is moderate. Two models were developed – Accelum High Speed Carbon and Accelum High Speed 5. (Those two were also called as just Accelum Carbon and Accelum 5 respectively.)

Accelum High Speed Carbon is a very fast carbon blade. Its fiber is woven carbon fiber inserted between middle layer and center layer. Although it is very fast and very hard blade, its feeling was quite natural thanks to its inner-fiber construction. The top layer is Koto. Therefore Accelum High Speed Carbon was cheaper than Strike Carbon that was the representative of fast carbon blade of adidas. When compared with Strike Carbon, Accelum High Speed Carbon can be used for more various playing style while the proper playing style for Strike Carbon is limited.
Accelum High Speed 5 is a 5-ply wood blade. But, it provides very high speed as a 5-ply blade while keeping the soft feeling of pure wood. Accelum High Speed 5 was considered as the blade for step-up from Challenge Force which had been the representative of adidas 5-ply wood blades.
ReDATT didn’t originally participated in the graphic design of these two models. However, ReDATT did the refinement of graphic design before the stage of mass production, because the graphic data had to be adjusted to the data that blade factory needed. From this series, adidas decided to allow more freedom of graphic design. But, the next series whose graphic design was done by ReDATT couldn’t be produced becaus adidas quit the table tennis market suddenly in the middle of 2015.
Following are the performance indices of Accelum series :
Accelum High Speed Carbon
– Ep = 3.06
– Ec = 2.83 (Ec/Ep = 0.93)
– Vp = 1.59
– Vl = 1.74 (Vl/Vp = 1.10)
Accelum High Speed 5
– Ep = 1.90
– Ec = 1.76 (Ec/Ep = 0.93)
– Vp = 1.27
– Vl = 1.36 (Vl/Vp = 1.07)
