‘Synteliac’ series is the new flagship blade family in andro range that consists of various kinds of fiber blades. The special materials adopted by ‘Synteliac series’ are ‘Zyreema Carbon’ and ‘Voltema Carbon’ those are different from the artificial fibers for existing fiber blades of andro. Current naming system of Andro blades is to add additional name after the main name depending on the type of construction and the kind of special material, followed by additional symbol indicating playing strategy or speed of blade. Depending on that system, four models of ‘Synteliac’ series are named as ‘Synteliac ZCO OFF/S’, ‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’, ‘Synteliac VCO OFF’ and ‘Synteliac VCI OFF’. High elasticity is one important advantage of ‘Synteliac’ series according to Andro. Andro promotes ‘SPEED WINS’ as the motto of the ‘Synteliac’ series.

‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’ is the inner-type model whose artificial fiber is ‘Zyreema Carbon’. ‘ZCI’ is the abbreviate of ‘Zyreema Carbon Inner’. ‘Zyreema’ is a kind of synthetic fiber, differently speaking PBO (Zylon) fiber. (The reason why many TT makers including andro are calling ‘Zylon fiber’ in different names is to avoid trademark dispute. But, it will be all right that we think of ‘Zyreema Carbon’ as ‘ZLC’. So ‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’ is a kind of outer-ZLC blade.) The concept of ‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’ is to make the feeling natural and to increase the stability by placing the artificial material right on the center layer.

‘Synteliac VCI OFF’ is one of the new flagship blades of andro. In particular, it is an important blade in andro blade range which can be provided to the players who have used Butterfly ‘InnerForce ZLC’, ‘InnerForce Layer ZLC’ and ‘Apolonia ZLC’.

Above is the construction of ‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’. Zyreema Carbon (= ZLC) is inserted between the middle layer and the center layer. The top layer is Limba, the middle layer is Ayous, and the center layer is also Ayous. Overall thickness is around 5.7mm.

The size of the head is around 158mm x 152mm The head size of two outer-type models (ZCO and VCO) is 157mm x 150mm while that of two inner-type models (ZCI and VCI) is 158mm x 152mm. The average weight of samples of ‘Synteliac VCO OFF’ is 84.9g.

Left is FL (flared) handle version, and right is ST (straight) handle version.

Above picture shows the shape of FL (= flared) handle. The width is around 26mm (at top) ~ 27mm (at bulge) ~ 26mm (at narrowest point) ~ 34mm (at the end), and the height (thickness) is around 23.5mm (at thumb) ~ 25mm (at the end). This narrow shape is applied only for inner-type models in the series (= ZCI and VCI), and different (= semi-wide) shape is applied for outer-type models (= ZCO and VCO).

The size of ST handle is around 28mm (width) x 23mm (height). This ST handle is common for all four models in ‘Synteliac’ series.

New ‘a’ logo of andro and the name of product is printed on the foreside of blade head. Differently from the other andro blades, the name of group (= ‘High Line’) and the construction of plywood are not printed on the head.

There isn’t any printing or lens at the backside of the blade.

At foreside of handle, there are two Aluminum panels. At the position close to thumb small rounded plate with ‘a’ logo is applied. And, below it long Aluminum panel with ‘Synteliac’ logo is applied.

Transparent plastic lens is applied at the end of handle. ‘ZCI’ and ‘OFF’ are shown in this plastic lens.

‘Synteliac ZCI OFF’ is a standard inner-ZLC blade with Limba top layer, and it can be directly compared with Butterfly ‘InnerForce Layer ZLC’. It is softer than outer-ZLC blade such as ‘Synteliac ZCO OFF/S’, and faster than inner-ALC blade such as ‘Synteliac VCI OFF’. And, it allows player to easily perform various technics. It can be conisered as an all-round blade whose elasticity is greatly enhanced from that of traditional 5-ply wood all-round blade. It can be recommended for modern all-round players.
Following are the performance indices of andro Synteliac ZCI OFF (avg.weight = 84.9) :
– Ep = 1.92
– Ec = 1.98 (Ec/Ep = 1.04)
– Vp = 1.36
– Vl = 1.37 (Vl/Vp = 1.01)
Please note that above are average values and can be updated by further measurement.

Any chances for andro “TREIBER FO OFF/S” to be tested in the near future?

Yes,that is a good value for money, that would appeal to many players

I’m considering to get it. But, I’m not sure whether I can get it soon or not.

Has anyone played this blade? Was wondering how it compared to innerforce zlc

In simple testing, it didn’t show big difference from InnerForce ZLC (not new InnerForce Layer ZLC but old InnerForce ZLC).
(One problem in comparison is that InnerForce or InnerForce Layer ZLC shows unexpectedly big deviation by piece. Especially in feeling. Probably there will be some pieces those give similar feeling with Synteliac ZCI while other pieces give much different feeling.)

Big deviance definitely complicates things, but I guess you are probably correct, they are most likely close enough that things like handle size would be the determining factor. Looks like a nice blade, though.

I also think that it is a nice blade. 🙂

how’s synteliac zci compare with tomokazu innerforce super zlc. Even tho the core is different (tomokazu super zlc use kiri as core, andro use ayous as core)
the ec from this synteliac zci is very high compare with tomokazu harimoto super zlc with softer core

Harimoto Tomokazu IF Super ZLC is somewhat unique as an inner-fiber blade. On the contrary, Synteliac ZCI has quite common blade construction. Further, there is difference in artificial material. The weaving method of Super ZLC is different from that of ZLC, and that makes big difference.

Do you think Syntaliac ZCI off, would work Well with Andro C53 on both FH and BH?

It differs by player. Some players will like that combination and the other players don’t. (I don’t like it.)
For the use of C53, I will select Synteliac VCO OFF instead of ZCI OFF. VCO OFF is better for aggressive topspin while ZCI OFF is better for all-round play in my opinion. I will combine R48 or R47 with VCO OFF.

Hi, thank you for doing this work. Quick question – is the shoulder/wing area same size as Harimoto? Harimoto fits well in my hand and I’ll pick this up if the shoulders are not larger. I hold the racket high on the handle and can’t work with excessively large wings.

Maybe not exactly. But basically same. All the shapes (head shapes and handle shapes) of Synteliac series are based on Butterfly shapes, differently from other andro blade families.
