KTS (Kim Taek Soo) is the table tennis brand managed by T-Mount which is a Korean company. In the blade range of KTS, the family that plays a very important role as the reasonably priced fiber blade series is ‘Ngineered’ series. ‘Ngineered’ is of course the word that is slightly varied from ‘engineered’. ‘Ngineered’ series consists of three kinds of reasonably priced fiber blades – ‘Ngineered HC’ which is a very fast Hinoki Carbon blade, ‘Ngineered J’ which is an inner carbon blade for close-to-table play, and ‘Ngineered H’ which is an inner glass fiber blade which fits for continuous topspin. And, in 2024 two new models – ‘Ngineered H Red’ and ‘Ngineered H Blue’ are added to this blade family. Two new models are the variations of existing ‘Ngineered H’, only coloring is changed from the original model. There isn’t any difference in specification and performance. ‘Ngineered H Red’, ‘Ngineered H Blue’ and original ‘Ngineered H (Black)’ are the fiber blades for continuous topspin, and can be recommended for various offensive players as standard offensive blades. Those three can also be recommended for entry players because of very reasonable price.

Above picture shows three kinds of ‘Ngineered H’s. Center is original ‘Ngineered H’ which can now be called as ‘Ngineered H Black’. Left is ‘Ngineered H Red’, and right is ‘Ngineered H Blue’. It is very interesting case that there are three variations whose constructions are totally identical and the differences are only in coloring.

The color of the fiber follows the theme color of each model. Left is ‘Ngineered H (Black)’, middle is ‘Ngineered H Red’ and right is ‘Ngineered H Blue’.

Above is the original ‘Ngineered H’ which can be currently called as ‘Ngineered H Black’. The theme color is black, and the orange colored nameplate makes strong contrast with the black / gray coloring of handle.

The construction of ‘Ngineered H’ is an 5+2 ply inner fiber construction. The top layer is Limba, the middle layer and the center layer are Ayous. Glass fiber is inserted between the middle layer and the center layer. Overall thickness is around 6.2mm, although the thickness is written as around 6.0mm in the home page of KTS. Glass fiber gives much more natural feeling that arylate fiber or aramid fiber. By the way, it is written as ‘GF (glass fiber) INTERCARBON’ on the head of the blade. That is a wrong description because the artificial material of ‘Ngineered H’ doesn’t include carbon fiber. The description should be corrected to ‘GF INTERFIBER’.

Above is ‘Ngineered H Red’ whose theme color is red. This coloring is for the players who prefer red color. The color of nameplate is changed to light gray from the orange of original (Black) model.

The construction of ‘Ngineered H Red’ is identical to that of ‘Ngineered H (Black)’ except for the color of fiber. The color of fiber is changed to red from the black of original model.

Above is ‘Ngineered H Blue’ whose theme color is dark blue. This coloring is for the players who prefer blue color. The color of nameplate is changed to light gray from the orange of original (Black) model.

The construction of ‘Ngineered H Blue’ is identical to that of ‘Ngineered H (Black)’ except for the color of fiber. The color of fiber is changed to blue from the black of original model.

The size of head is around 157mm x 150mm.

One of the biggest features of KTS blades is the shape of the handle. This FL handle is completely flat on the top and bottom, and it doesn’t have bulged section between the root section and the narrowest section. The width of FL handle is around 25.5mm at the narrowest section, and around 34mm at the end. The thickness of handle is around 23mm at thumb, and around 24mm at the end. The unique FL handle whose top and bottom are completely flat reminds us the handle of old Butterfly blades such as Gergely, although the FL handle of ‘Fury’ series is rounded at the edge differently from that of ‘Gergely’.

The ‘N’ logo of Ngineered series, the name of blade and the information on construction are printed on the foreside of head.

Aluminum logo plate that includes ‘N’ logo and the character ‘H’ is applied at foreside of handle.\

The information on brand, company and the origin of blade is printed on the backside of head.

Three variations of ‘Ngineered H’ – Black, Red and Blue – are the most important models in the blade range of KTS, because those can be recommended for various offensive players as standard offensive blades.
