‘Rasanter’ series is the most successful rubber series in andro range so far. It is further divided into the original series that was initially released and the ‘EC’ series that was released after 2021. ‘EC’ is the abbreviate of ‘Energy Cell’, and newly developed ‘Energy Cell Sponge’ is being applied to the latest models of the ‘Rasanter’ series released after 2021. The naming system of the ‘Rasanter’ series is ‘Rasanter’ followed by one letter of the alphabet and two digits. The alphabet indicates the nature of the sub-series and the two digits indicate the hardness of the sponge in German standard. The original series is divided into the R series (= R50, R47, R42, R37) which focuses on spin, and the V series (= V47, V42) which focuses on speed. The latest ‘EC’ series was first launched in early 2022 with the new R series (= R53, R48, R45), and has been followed by the ‘sticky’ C series (C53, C48) in early 2023. The ‘EC’ series – new R series and C series – basically focuses on spin. The new R series and the C series have something in common in that they both can easily make strong rotational. But, they are distinguished by playing strategy. The R series is more suitable for active attak that utilizes high speed while the C series focuses on counterattack that utilizes its excellent controllability.

The ‘C’ in the name of the ‘Rasanter C’ series stands for ‘counter spin’. The ‘Rasanter C’ series specializes in play that counters the opponent’s attack by topspin. The sticky top sheet with weak adjesiveness, special pimple geometry, and Energy Cell Sponge with mdeium-sized pores are all focused on counter attack. In particular, the lower (= closer to base) part of pimple is shaped like a truncated cone. andro calls this as ‘counterspin damper’, and is explaining that this shape makes the counterattack easier by absorbing the power of the opponent’s ball. Currently three versions are available – ‘Rasanter C53’, ‘Rasanter C48’, and ‘Rasanter C45’ those are hard version, medium version, and medium soft version respectively.

‘Rasanter C53’ and ‘Rasanter C48’ were first released in early 2023. ‘Rasanter C53’ is a hard sponge version which is equipped with 53° sponge, and ‘Rasanter C48’ is a medium sponger verion which is equipped with 48° sponge. (Sponge density is in German standard.)

‘Rasanter C45’ which is equipped with medium soft sponge has been added to ‘Rasanter C’ series in autumn 2023. Sponge density is 45°, and this version is much easier to use than existing sticky tension rubbers made in Germany.

On the backside of packaging, it is explained that ‘C’ is the abbreviate of ‘counterspin’ and everything of this rubber specializes for counterspin.

The pimples of ‘Rasanter C’ are low, and are densey arranged. The most important feature of pimple geometry is that the root of the pimple is shaped like a truncated cone. This is the one we can also see from many Chinese sticky rubbers such as ‘Neo Hurricane 3’. andro is calling it as ‘Counterspin Damper’.

Recommended player level is indicated at left top of the packaging. Andro is recommending ‘Rasanter C53’ for ultimate professional players, and ‘Rasanter C48’ for high lever of amateur players. ‘Rasanter C45’ is also being recommended for high lever of amateur players.

The sticky top sheet is protected by plastic cover.

The texture of surface is unexpectedly ordinary. Although ‘Rasanter C’ is a sticky rubber, its surface feel is very different from that of Chinese sticky rubber.

If we don’t check the name or the registration number, ‘Rasanter C’ isn’t distinguished from ‘Rasanter R’ and ‘Rasnater V’ those are non-stickry rubbers.

The very distinctive green sponge is a tradition from the ‘Rasant’ series that was released before ‘Rasanter’. andro has been pushing this ‘green’ strongly ever since it was chosen as andro’s representative color. The pores of sponge are so large that they are noticeable even in this photo. Sponge densities are 53°, 48° and 45° in German standard.

Unlike ‘Rasanter R’ or ‘Rasanter V’, the base of top sheet isn’t thin. Instead the pimple of ‘Rasanter C’ is lower than those of non-sticky rubbers. It enables the application of ‘Ultramax’ sponge which is thicker than ordinary MAX sponge by 0.1mm.

Ultramax sponge is thicker than ordinary MAX sponge. It is one important feature of ‘Rasnater’ series, and thinner top sheet makes it possible.

‘TENSOR BIOS’ mark is still being used. But current ‘TENSOR BIOS’ rubbers are totally different from the ‘TENSOR BIOS’ rubber until 2008 – for example ‘Roxon’.

Top sheet of ‘Rasanter C’ is available in red and black.

‘Rasanter C’ can be fully expressed as ‘Counter Spin’ + ‘Energy Cell’. ‘Rasanter C’ provides very high efficiency in aggressive play at close-to-table area thanks to the top sheet specialized for counterspin and the new sponge based on the Energy Cell concept.

One very important feature that distinguishes ‘Rasanter C’ from other recent German sticky tension rubbers is that the medium sponge (= 48°) and the medium soft (= 45°) sponges are available. For ordinary players, softer versions greatly lower the barrier to entry for sticky rubbers. The availability of 45° sponge is especially valuable. TTGearLab will test ‘Rasanter C’ series at table tennis court and will report the result.
